Free Bike Maintenance Classes available at My Place, Harold Hill, Havering

Places are still available for bike maintenance classes being held at the Myplace Centre in Harold Hill this year.

These courses are for people looking to improve their knowledge of bike maintenance.

Basic course (aged 11 upwards) – This short (2 hour) course covers a safety check, gear and brake adjustment and emergency roadside repairs (punctures). Attendees are welcome to bring their own bicycle to this course.  This course is being held on the following dates:

August 8th – Basic – 10:00–12:00 & 13:00-15:00

September 5th – Basic – 10:00–12:00 & 13:00-15:00

October 10th – Basic – 10:00–12:00 & 13:00-15:00

Advance course (aged 15 upwards) – This 5 hour course covers the likely needs for a cycle touring holiday or to maintain your own bike, it includes advanced removal and installation of bicycle components. To get the best from this course attendees should be able to perform basic maintenance to a bicycle. Attendees are required to bring their own bike to this course.

August 15th  – Advanced – 10:00-16:00

August 22nd  – Advanced – 10:00-16:00

August 29th – Advanced – 10:00-16:00

September 12th – Advanced – 10:00-16:00

September 26th – Advanced – 10:00-16:00

October 24th – Advanced- 10:00-16:00

November 7th – Advanced – 10:00-16:00

November 28th – Advanced –10:00-16:00

Space for Cycling Petition gets 2 page spread in Romford Recorder

Havering Mayor Councillor Brian Eagling and Councillor Robert Benham accepted our petition on Friday, and this will be formally passed to the Mayor and presented at the next full council meeting. Ride London 2015 Feeder Ride Gidea Park Station to Fenchurch Street, picking up in Barking and Dagenham

We want as many people as possible – of all ages and abilities – to enjoy Prudential RideLondon FreeCycle so we’ve put together a guided ride to deliver you to the heart of the action in central London on Saturday 1 August.

The Ride London 2015 Free Cycle feeder ride starting from Gidea Park Station in Havering and finishing at Fenchurch Street. The route goes via Barking and Dagenham and picks up B&D riders at the start of CS3. After following CS3 for part of the way it then leaves CS3 and enters central London.via St Katherines Canal and the Tower of London.
